As a Food Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the development of food products, ensuring their safety, legality, and adherence to high-quality standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of creating and improving food products, contributing to their success in the market.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop samples/prototypes of new products.
• Modify existing products to enhance marketability.
• Develop specifications for product production labeling.
• Compile cost analysis information.
• Maintain accurate records to ensure smooth start-up for new product production processes.
• Collaborate with food production staff for quality, safety, labeling, production, handling, and distribution of food products.
• Ensure food-processing areas comply with government regulations and meet standards for sanitation and waste management.
• Support new product development and/or processes based on consumer feedback.
• Research products, markets, and technology to improve existing brand/product offerings.
• Ensure the quality and safety of our food products by meticulously analyzing ingredients and processes.
• Find substitutes for harmful ingredients without compromising on taste or quality.
• Adhere to federal compliance requirements to ensure our products meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in food technology, food science, or a related field.
• Prior industry work experience on a food production line is highly beneficial.
• Networking is essential, with added weightage for candidates who have connections with the right people, such as those who have worked with Unilever.

Skills Required:

• Strong teamworking skills and the ability to work independently when necessary.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Problem-solving skills and creativity to address challenges in food quality and safety.
• Attention to detail to ensure every aspect of our products meets our high standards.
• Leadership skills to guide teams and initiatives in enhancing food quality and safety.
• Good time-management and organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
