Nandini Brand got Responsibility of Restore Trust on Tirupati Laddu
For countless devotees, the laddus offered at Tirupati are more than just sweets—they are a symbol of faith. But recent news has left many reeling, as the Andhra Pradesh government revealed that lab tests have confirmed adulteration in the sacred prasad, including the use of animal fat. The disclosure has triggered a wave of anger and disappointment among worshippers.
The Chandrababu Naidu-led government, acting swiftly in the wake of the scandal, has decided to replace the ghee supplier for the laddus. From now on, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) will source its ghee from the “Nandini” brand, a well-known and trusted dairy company in South India. The switch is intended to reassure devotees and restore the integrity of the laddus, which hold immense religious significance.
Nandini, often compared to Amul and Mother Dairy in the North, is the largest dairy brand in Karnataka and has a strong presence in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Goa. The brand’s reputation for quality has made it a natural choice to take over this important role.
While the scandal has shaken the faith of many, the government’s swift action in replacing the supplier has been seen as a positive step towards restoring trust. Devotees can now look forward to receiving laddus that are once again pure, both in taste and in spirit.
