Position: Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) Lead – Organic Staples (Food)

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance of all Private Label Organic food products.
  • Set up and manage end-to-end quality operations for Organic Staples in the retail supply chain.
  • Lead and mentor a team of quality assurance professionals in your zone.
  • Travel to various 3rd party supplier locations within and outside the city for quality inspections and issue resolution.
  • Develop SOPs and systems for Organic Staples in accordance with Organic Regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the Organic Staples Project from development to implementation.
  • Possess strong technical knowledge of Organic Certifications, APEDA Tracenet, and Organic Labeling Guidelines.
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for food safety regulations and quality for Organic Staples aligned with corporate goals.

Qualifications:

  • BE/B.Tech/B.Sc/M.Sc in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Processing Engineering, or Agriculture (Any UG/PG related to Food).
  • Minimum 8 years of direct working experience in the Food Industry, with at least 2-3 years of experience leading Organic Staples.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Document raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods in compliance with Organic Regulation requirements.
  • Handle customer concerns and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Identify areas for improvement in food safety quality and product quality, contributing positively to business metrics.
  • Possess good technical knowledge of regulatory requirements for products, packing materials, and labels.
  • Continuously develop the supplier QA team through training, knowledge sharing, and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with 3rd Party RPC and corporate QA teams on projects related to quality, food safety, and efficiencies.
  • Provide guidance to the Supplier Quality Team as needed.

Key Skills:

  • Ability to independently develop and lead projects.
  • Strong experience in managing stakeholders and understanding the strategic sourcing process.
  • Utilize and critically evaluate data from various sources to identify root causes and lead teams toward resolution.
  • Proven experience as an Organic Quality lead in staple products.
  • Process-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively communicating to diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated, capable of performing roles with minimal supervision.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to consistently achieve results and objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive “can-do” attitude, and excellent teamwork with information-sharing skills.
